Gonzo

Hey all,

A bit of a journalism role model - Hunter S. Thompson - has been found dead in his Colorado home.

It appears he shot himself last night. He was 67.

Thompson was never going to go quietly. He was always outspoken, rebellious - a take-no-shit-from-no-fool kinda guy. He invented the style of journalism known as "Gonzo" - a fictional kind of writing in which the writer is an integral part of the story.

His "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" is still a favourite among literary-type people.

It almost makes me want to scull 3 bottles of rum and pop a few tabs of acid just to honour his memory. ;)
