I decided about two hours before Monday night's Speakeasy impro show that it should be Oscars Night, in-keeping with the Academy Awards that day. I decided this primarily as an excuse to dress up for what is generally a fairly relaxed night of humourous shenanigans at the pub.
The very kind Crazy Cat Lady lent me a gorgeous red full-length frock at the last minute, and after seeing a photograph online, the very talented Katherine Fitzhywel surprised me last night with this fabulous pastel watercolour sketch.
In other news, today is the last day for entries into my super-exciting win-a-free-rug competition - entries close 9pm AEST.
Secondly, Joseph Heller's satirical WWII masterpiece Catch 22 opens at the Brisbane Arts Theatre tomorrow night (13 March). This show has been directed by The Wah, so I can guarantee you a top night of theatre. The Wah is a genius when it comes to absurdist drama, and this will be a great one for people who love the book - or would even just like to find out exactly how the term "Catch 22" came about.
You can look at the teaser trailer here, then book your tickets here.
Nice dress! Where's the original online photo?
